Mobile app developer Future Workshops has created the first iPhone App from indoor skydiving specialist Airkix. To paraphrase singer-songriter legend John Shuttleworth in the introduction to his song paying homage to the fleece, you probably didn’t think there was an app for that, but there is. Future Workshops says the app has been created to enable the brand to better connect with its existing customers and attract a wider audience to the high-adrenaline sport.
The Airkix App is a free-to-download video game that gives users a chance to practice flying before visiting the centre, or the opportunity to re-live their previous body-flight adventure. It is closely aligned to a first-time flyer experience at Airkix, which has centres in Manchester and Milton Keynes in the UK.
“Airkix is a great example of how smart brands are adopting new ways to connect with their customers and target potential new audiences,” says Future Workshops founder, Matt Brooke-Smith. “Apps offer an immersive digital experience that holds a customer’s attention far longer than conventional advertising and are subsequently fast becoming an integral part of the marketing mix. The Airkix App is fun and easy-to-use and we are sure it will actively encourage more people to get involved with the growing body-flight phenomenon.”
The Airkix app is available as a free download from the iTunes Store or via Future Workshops website.
