SPB Software has updated its SPB Mobile Shell app for Symbian handsets. The new version offers optimized memory usage, plus a media player widget that enables users to launch the media player from the home screen. SPB has also released four new, free themes for Symbian for customisation of the user interface.
Other improvements include shortcuts to the most-used files; a customized ‘Call’ button; the addition of New Memo and New Anniversary items in the organizer menu; and landscape/portrait orientation control. 
SPB Mobile Shell 3.5.5 for is available for Symbian-based touchscreen devices (S60 5th Edition and higher). It costs $29.95 (£20), or you can get a 15-day free trial version. Both are available via the SPB website. Existing SPB Mobile Shell for Symbian users can upgrade for free.
