Sports Tracker App Gets to the Heart of Things

Sports Tracking Technologies has released an updated version of its Sports Tracker application that turns Nokia smartphones into full-featured GPS sports computers. The new version of the app is paired with a WearLink+ transmitter with Bluetooth heart rate belt from Polar, which brings heart rate measurement to all Sports Tracker users, across all the supported 35 device models.

The app keeps track of everything from calories burned while running to a user’s average cycling speed over altitude. Users get maps, time and distance calculators, step count, and even heart rate with the Polar WearLink accessory. All data is stored in a diary so users can chart their progress and dhare the data with friends.

“We are excited to bring the long-awaited heart rate monitoring capabilities to the hands of Sports Tracker users and compatibility to more than 100m Nokia phones,” says Sports Tracking Technologies CEO, Jussi Kaasinen.” We want to offer the best possible experience with a state-of-the-art heart rate transmitter, and we are happy to bring this accessory to the market together with Polar, the global leader in heart rate measurement technology.”

The app is available for free through the Ovi Store download link on the Sports Tracker website. The Polar WearLink+ transmitter with Bluetooth accessory is available to buy at the Sports Tracker web store now, with deliveries starting 1 July 2010.
