Volkswagen Puts Apps on the Showroom Floor

Car manufacturer Volkswagen is rolling out more than 2,000 iPads to its showrooms in the UK, preloaded with a customer engagement app developed by Tribal. The app shows off Volkswagens product range and combination features.

The apps are connected to Volkswagens Car Configurator app for iPhone, which enables users to filter models by demands including price, fuel type, and performance to find a personalised ideal car. These details can then be accessed on the showroom floor, using the iPad app.

“This groundbreaking, national scheme is the first of its kind and signals the future of the ‘in showroom’ experience,” says Rod McLeod, head of marketing for Volkswagen. “Customers will have unlimited choice with our national database at their fingertips. It will bring us closer to our customers and provide a seamless car choosing experience.”

The roll out will take place over the next couple of weeks.
