[img_assist|nid=26444|title=|desc=|link=popup|align=left|width=150|height=90]The amateur movie iOS app Qwiki has announced that it has been bought by Yahoo in yet another acquisition for a company re-positioning itself as a mobile entertainment hub.
“The Qwiki app will live on as a standalone entity inside Yahoo!,” a company blog said, “where we will grow our thriving community and where our team will continue to work to help you share life’s best experiences.” 
A figure for the buyout has not been announced, although AllThingsD is reporting that it Yahoo has paid between $40 and $50m. The former ad giant has already bought a fantasy sports company this week.
