Argos-digital-skills-workshop-600x399Argos has launched in-store digital skills workshops to help up to 10,000 non-connected Brits get online for the first time.

The workshops, which are part of the retailers partnership with UK charity Go On, cost £20 per person – but offer attendees a free tablet and a voucher redeemable for a years worth of free broadband, courtesy of TalkTalk.

Argos staff will talk participants through topics including how to use a tablet, access the internet and receive email.

The workshops will run from 25 October to January 2015 in 120 stores nationwide.

“The digital revolution continues apace – however, millions remain on the side-lines,” said John Walden, chief executive of Argos parent company Home Retail Group. “Argos Internet Workshops have been developed to help people overcome the barriers of access and affordability and improve their knowledge, understanding and confidence in digital technology.”
