Mobile advertising on tablets and smartphones now represents 20 per cent of all Facebook ad spend, according to social advertising agency, Kenshoo. Facebook mobile ads carry a 70 per cent price premium over desktop, with traditional ads costing $0.81 USD and mobile ads costing $1.38.
iPad ads make up 97 per cent of all ads targeted to tablets. Android accounts for the majority of smartphone spend, 71 per cent. Kenshoo analysed 2m Facebook ad clicks.
“The world’s top brands have embraced Facebook mobile advertising and we expect the channel to become increasingly competitive as new devices, like those on display at the Consumer Electronics Show this week, deliver enhanced interactive experiences,” said Aaron Goldman, Kenshoo CMO.
