Flytxt has Flown

Flytxt, once the standard bearer for the mobile marketing industry, has closed its UK operations.
The company put the agency side of its business up for sale in October 2006 and attempted to reinvent itself as a software company, earning revenues from selling licences for its Neon mobile marketing platform to advertiser and agency clients. But while the agency business was sold to Buongiorno in May 2007, the software business has had a tough time of it, and Mobile Marketing Magazine understands that the London office closed for business within the past couple of weeks. When we attempted to contact the companys London office this morning, the call was routed to one of the companys Indian offices. A call to the Flytxt office in New Dehli went unanswered, but a spokeswoman in the Flytxt office in Trivandrum assured us that the Indian operation was still up and running.
Flytxt was one of the first companies in the mobile marketing space, working on many high-profile campaigns, including the Orange Wednesdays 2-for-1 cinema ticket promotion, which is still running today.
