Security device company Noke has released the first in a line of Bluetooth-enabled smart locks. The Noke Padlock enables users to protect their belongings without the drawbacks of a physical key or combination. It’s available exclusively at Firebox.com for £59.99.
The Noke Padlock was funded by the Kickstarter community in a successful 30-¬-day campaign that raised over sixtimes the company’s $100,000 dollar goal in pledges. Noke is a spinoff of FUZ Designs, and is focused on developing smart locks of every kind.
The Noke Padlock is a Bluetooth enabled lock that works in conjunction with the Noke iOS, Android or Windows Phone app, allowing users to open their lock with their phone. Users can also share virtual keys with others and view a history of the lock’s access to track where, when, and by whom the lock was used.
“It’s exciting to see the positive response our padlocks are already receiving,” said Noke COO and co-founder, Cameron Gibbs. “We really wanted to give consumers a convenient and smart solution to security, and I feel we accomplished that.”
