Broadband Experts Onspeed Giveaway

Broadband Expert is giving away a free Onspeed Internet acceleration software subscription to anyone signing up for a new mobile broadband contract via the Broadband expert website in September.
The Onspeed software was launched in 1994. It works by compressing web pages and emails so that they can be downloaded more quickly. Broadband Experts exclusive partnership with Onspeed will entitle mobile broadband customers to receive a free, one year subscription to the Onspeed software, which normally costs 24.99 per annum, and which the company says can increase speeds by up to 10 times.
Broadband Expert Commercial Director Rob Webber says that the free Onspeed software will help mobile broadband users make the most of their connection.
Slow mobile broadband can be really frustrating for many Internet users and we were interested in finding out the difference an Onspeed speed boost could make, says Webber. We decided to put it through its paces by conducting a road test of mobile broadband speeds across the country.  We found that, on average, Onspeed cut download times by over 60%.
The Broadband Expert road test monitored the time taken to download a large page of text and graphics with and without the Onspeed software using Vodafone mobile broadband in various locations around the country, including North-west London, Chelmsford, Guildford, Bournemouth and Birmingham. Results showed that the average time to download the same web page with text and images (754,928 bytes) was 5.6 seconds, compared to 2.2 seconds when the Onspeed software was used.
