Carphone Warehouse has launched a 7” Android tablet, the Avoca, for just £49.
This price is an introductory offer, rising to £99 on 4 November, but its the cheapest tablet weve ever seen on sale in the UK. As youd expect for the money, the Avoca is a fairly basic affair, with 8GB storage and a 800×480 screen, thought it does run on Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean).
Carphone Warehouse is the latest UK retailer to unveil its own tablet – in the last month, Tesco and Argos launched the Hudl and MyTablet, respectively, both priced around the £100 mark. 
The Avoca will only be sold in stores, presumably to help Carphone Warehouse control stock at this introductory price, although the retailer does seem to offering it as a free gift with certain phone contracts online.
