Mobile Comics Site Selects Bango

Platinum Studios, an entertainment company that controls the worlds largest independent library of comic book characters, has revealed that it is using Bangos direct-to-consumer technology to power Platinum Studio Mobile, a mobile website featuring images, sounds, wallpaper and other mobile content from Platinums library and from the web comics community, DrunkDuck.com. The Bango platform enables consumers on any mobile network, anywhere in the world to browse Platinum Studio content at their leisure and make a purchase via their phone bill, by credit card or PayPal.
Platinum Studios library of content includes comics from Awesome Comics, Frances Hexagon Comics, Italys Bonelli Comics, Crisis Comics, plus other popular independent comic books such as Blood Nation, Cowboys & Aliens and the recently introduced KISS Comics Group debut comic, KISS 4K: Legends Never Die, based on the mythology surrounding legendary rock band KISS.
Platinum Studios, which has championed the comic creator for over a decade, invested in a mobile web presence because it offers comic creators new revenue opportunities outside traditional print publishing.
With Platinum Studios diverse library of comic book characters from all over the world, we needed to be able to deliver our content everywhere our consumers are, and a technology provider which understood the worldwide mobile network complexity says Howard Brodwin, Head of Platinum Studios Digital Publishing Group. We found both in Bango. Analysts predict that by 2008 there will be 3.2 billion mobile users around the world, with 1.2 billion of them having access to the internet. By using Bangos simplified technology, millions of comic book fans with a mobile phone will have the opportunity to discover, connect and download their favourite comic characters via the mobile Web.
Using Bango Web Trigger technology, comic fans can easily buy image and sound downloads from Platinum Studios Mobile in one seamless step from anywhere in the world.
