Openmind Networks has revealed that it has been awarded the contract to provide enhanced SMS hubbing services for Telenor Global Services (TGS).
The TGS SMS Interworking Gateway (SMS-IG) Service provides SMS routing, interoperability, translations and management across technologies for ubiquitous messaging services among wireless operators. TGS is the international carrier of Telenor. Its main activities are international wholesale of voice termination, GRX, MMS Interworking, IPX, capacity, IP VPN and IP transit. TGS has established Points of Interconnect in Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Paris, London, New York, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The Message-OS platform has been designed by Openmind Networks to provide a unified management, access and control layer for SMS, MMS and IMS services in a telecom network. Openmind has developed a suite of products that exploit the underlying capabilities of the platform to address key business areas, including inter- and intra-operator message routing, spam and privacy protection, personalised service support and adaptation to standard compliant application servers.
Openmind Networks is delighted to partner with TGS to provide their mobile operator customers with enhanced SMS interoperability services says Openmind CEO, Alex Duncan. Our Message-OS Traffic Control product allows TGS to meet the existing SMS business requirements, and is also highly expandable for future business requirements.
For TGS, Vice President of Mobile Markets Kjetil Hanshus adds:
TGS and Openmind Networks have been working closely together on the SMS hubbing project. TGS have chosen Openmind Networks Message-OS Traffic Control Platform to strengthen our service offering and provide scalability as our business grows with the TGS global mobile operator base.
