The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) has launched a mobile ticketing pilot for the citys public transport.
Using an iOS and Android app developed by Masabi, mTickets will initially only be available for journeys to and from local football games. This will potentially be extended to other special events in the area, including Comic-Con, over the course of the pilot. 
“This new product is a game changer for our riders,” said Paul Jablonski, chief executive officer of MTS. “Now they don’t need to wait in line to buy a ticket. They don’t need a Compass Card. They can buy a pass to the game anywhere, anytime.”
