Bango Rolls Out Google Play Carrier Billing in Two New Countries

bango logoMobile payments firm Bango has continued its rapid-fire rollout of Google Play carrier billing, bringing the option to two new countries, Oman and Bahrain, in the same week.

In Bahrain, the company has partnered with mobile operator Batelco, launching carrier billing for Google Play services ahead of schedule to enable customers to purchase apps, games, music and films via their smartphones.

The Batelco Google Play activation comes just days after a similar launch in Oman, with Bangos platform technology now having enabled more than 20 app store-grade carrier billing routes across the Middle East region, and over 150 globally.

“Bango has developed a powerful technology platform that has the flexibility to enable the worlds most demanding app stores to get to market quickly and reliably, and with the sophisticated reconciliation and reporting systems they need,” said Ray Anderson, CEO of Bango.

“The Bango launch team is highly experienced, having used this powerful technology to launch more app store carrier billing deployments than anyone else. Launching Batelco Bahrain in Google Play ahead of schedule confirms the power of our platform approach, supported by the effectiveness of Bango expertise.”

Android devices dominate the Middle East market, which has continued to show strong growth throughout the year as more and more consumers adopt smartphones in the area.

“We couldnt have made the launch a reality without Bango,” said Irfan S. Deen, product development manager at Batelco. “Bango technology and exception project management meant we got to market extremely fast, launching earlier than scheduled, enabling us to capture additional revenue that would otherwise have been lost forever.”
