Eagle Rock and Qello Ink Music Video Content Deal

Global entertainment firm Eagle Rock Entertainment has announced a deal with multi-platform digital syndication service Qello. The deal will see Eagle Rock provide music content for Qellos new cloud-based streaming app for Android and iOS.

Eagle Rock is supplying an initial 250 titles for the Qello app, including music documentaries and concerts. Included in the deal are titles such as Queen Rock Montreal, The Rolling Stones Ladies And Gentlemen, and The Doors Grammy Award-winning documentary When Youre Strange

Bob Frank, President of Qello, says: “Eagle Rocks extensive library of HD quality concert films is a key component to the Qello experience, where music enthusiasts will be able to find his or her favorite artist or band [and] stream it to any device.”

By June, Qello will have more than 1,000 concert films in its library from Eagle Rock and other content partners. The Qello app will be accessible in N. America first, with an international rollout due for Q4 2011. The app made its debut on the Motorola Zoom at CTIA Wireless in Florida last week. Qello will launch on April 10 on iOS and Android. The company says it is also set to be pre-installed on several upcoming tablet devices.

Peter Worsley, MD of Digital and Production at Eagle Rock Entertainment says: “Qellos ease of use and scalability will help expand our digital business, as the music industry faces the decline of retail space for packaged music goods. This app will enable us to get to know consumers interests and respond much more quickly with targeted digital content, across a range of platforms.”
