France Telecom is officially rebranding to Orange, beginning from 1 July 2013.
France Telecom acquired Orange back in 2000, and merged it with its own mobile phone businesses of the time.
Since then, the Orange brand has been synonymous with the telco as a whole, and the rebranding is part of a wider move which started in 2006, to bring together all of its products – which includes mobile network offerings in 32 countries, as well as broadband and TV services – under a single global brand.
The change was approved yesterday at the France Telecom Group Annual Shareholders Meeting.
