Kaleyra to buy cloud communcations firm Hook Mobile

Kaleyra Hook MobileKaleyra, a provider of messaging services for banks, SME, and large enterprises, has agreed to acquire US cloud communications company Hook Mobile. The terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

Formed out of a merger between Italian messaging services provider Ubiquity and Indian cloud communications platform Solutions Infini, Kaleyra offers communications services for customers in 200 countries around the world. Meanwhile, Hook Mobile provides a communications platform as a service (CPaas) to clients worldwide, with particular interests in North, Central, and South American markets. It reaches over 50 countries with its virtual local numbers, which are designed to forward calls to other phone lines without being linked to an actual phone line.

The acquisition will increase Kaleyra’s presence across Europe, Asia, and the Americas, bringing together a combined revenue of over $100m and a team of more than 200 people across 12 locations.
