NTT DoCoMo Selects InnoPath

Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions company Innopath Software has revealed that it has been commissioned to deliver an OMA-DM-compliant (Open Mobile Alliance Device Management) Server Simulator to NTT DoCoMo. Based on OMA-DM standards, the Server Simulator will be used by DoCoMo to evaluate the OMA-DM service.
The InnoPath Server Simulator helps illustrate the companys dedication to mobile device management standards, the company says. A founding member of OMA, InnoPath plays an active role in the standards organization, with over 134 submissions and code contributions. The company notes that it has made significant contributions to OMA efforts, with the Core DM Protocol, FUMO, DiagMon, SCoMO, IOP and other OMA enablers. Standards, such as OMA-DM, it says, facilitate the spread of MDM, aiding interoperability and removing barriers to deployment.
The Server Simulator, while optimized for automated testing, scripting and running unusual test cases, leverages InnoPaths DM Engine, ensuring accurate test results. The DM Engine is the core of InnoPaths iMDM Server, powering MDM implementations at some of the worlds leading operators.
Standards and real-world interoperability are critically important to InnoPath and our customers, says InnoPath Japan President, Shinichi Sawai. We are very proud that NTT DoCoMo has chosen our Server Simulator for evaluation. This illustrates the confidence the industry has in InnoPaths standards leadership as well as the vital role of standards for mobile operators.”
