34 per cent of US shoppers prefer to make their Christmas purchases in a dedicated app, according to research by Opera Mediaworks – while the exact same proportion prefer to shop on a mobile site.

Meanwhile, 40 per cent have made purchases directly from an ad on their mobile device.
