Audioboo Enables Email Uploading

Sound-based social network Audioboo has launched a service that enables users to upload files via email. Audioboo users can currently record and upload unlimited sound clips via iOS, Android and selected Nokia devices. The new BooMail feature will allow BlackBerry users to upload audio content on the go, as well as giving web users a new, quick way to update their profile.

Users will be given their own email address and vCard to add to their address book. They can then type the title of their audio clip into the subject line of the email, atach and audio file and an image, and then send it directly to their Audioboo profile.

“Were always looking for new ways to make life easier for the Audioboo community, and thats what BooMail is all about,” says Audioboo CEO and founder, Mark Rock. “Its not replacing any of our existing systems; were just offering our users a new way to access their profile, while opening up the service to a wider audience. Some people may not have access to external websites from a workplace computer, or they may want to update their profile on the go through a BlackBerry handset. Others are just more comofrtable using email. BooMail offers these users a fast, secure new route to sharing audio.”

Audioboo users can get full instructions on how to use the service by sending a blank email to
