ContextSDK bags $4 million in seed funding

ContextSDK, a mobile app engagement platform, has secured $4 million in seed funding.

The round, led by Speedinvest with contributions from First Momentum Ventures and Heracles Capital, will help the company scale, process over 40 billion mobile events, and expand into the U.S. by 2025.

Mobile apps are used in various contexts, but most function uniformly, potentially overlooking opportunities for personalisation.

This lack of adaptation results in high user attrition, with 77% abandoning apps within three days and 95% within three months.

ContextSDK addresses this issue by using over 200 physical signals from smartphones to deliver real-time contextual data, allowing apps to adjust to the user’s environment.

Powered by Edge AI, which runs directly on the device, ContextSDK enhances personalisation without collecting personally identifiable information (PII).

This enables CMOs and product teams to create tailored experiences, notifications, and messaging, improving engagement and retention while maintaining user privacy.

Dieter Rappold, CEO and Co-founder of ContextSDK, said: “The largest apps have traditionally optimized their operations on the server side. By integrating Edge AI into the equation, we enable better app experiences, improved user retention, and, ultimately, increased monetisation.”

Felix Krause, Co-Founder and Chief Product Officer, added: “We believe the future of mobile apps lies in their ability to adapt to users’ real-world contexts. We’re setting a new standard in app engagement, delivering experiences users love through contextual adaptation.”

ContextSDK has processed more than 10 billion events to enhance its machine learning models and aims to hit 40 billion events by 2025 in anticipation of launching its SaaS platform in the U.S.
