Klarna rebrands Shaquille O’Neal as ‘Shaquille O’Deal’ for festive campaign

Basketball icon Shaquille O’Neal has been rebranded as Shaquille O’Deal for Klarna’s upcoming major Christmas campaign, highlighting special festive offers.

The festive campaign will feature the former Lakers star in films, photos, and shopping events, spanning TV, digital, social media, and outdoor ads across the UK and US. 

The campaign will also include in-person shopping experiences.

“I’m all about mixing business with fun, and after building several ventures of my own, I know a smart deal when I see one,” O’Neal said In a statement. 

“That’s why I’m thrilled to partner with Klarna for their Christmas deals campaign. I’ve gone by many names, but for now, you can call me Shaquille O’Deal, as Klarna and I bring shoppers great deals and some exciting ‘giveback’ moments over the Christmas period”.

The news comes after the buy now pay later (BNPL) giant previously partnered with Paris Hilton for a campaign last year.
