Analyst Visiongain has released its report, Quadruple Play and Service Bundling Strategies: 2005-2011. The report looks at the bundling of fixed telephony, broadband, and TV by telcos and cable companies to create triple play packages, and quadruple play packages with the addition of mobile telephony.
The report argues that bundles will become a major force affecting all aspects of consumer telecom and entertainment habits, but that the need for quadruple play is not yet proven, given that many service providers are still struggling. The report outlines hurdles and measures that companies need to implement in order to remain competitive.
The report provides detailed regional forecasts of households subscribing to bundled services, by single, two-play, triple play and quadruple play offerings. It offers operators an understanding of the directions that the market is evolving and how it relates to the needs of subscribers, and includes case studies in successful market deployment of bundles and the reasons behind them.
For ISPs, the report reveals the services and business models that are needed to challenge fixed-line and mobile operators and create compelling entertainment and communication packages. It also explores the convergence issues that will impact on ISPs business.
The report costs 1,499 for a single-user licence, 2,999 for a departmental (5-user) licence, or 4,999 for a company-wide license. The report will be available to buyers via Visiongains new Online Reading Room, which means buyers can print and access the report from anywhere, via an Internet connection.
