Canela.TV partners with Hyundai for Ecuador World Cup qualifiers coverage

Canela.TV, one of the first AVOD (Ad-funded Video on Demand) streaming services for US Hispanics, has partnered with Hyundai to offer coverage of Ecuador’s World Cup Qualifier matches for free to viewers. The qualifier matches will run from September to December, with a 48-hour delay from the original air date. Teams are competing for a place in the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals, which will take place from 21 November – 18 December 2022 in Qatar.

“We are pleased to bring Latino cord-cutters, who are all in for the upcoming World Cup, free access to the qualifier matches,” said Isabel Rafferty, CEO and Founder of Canela Media. “The most important soccer match in the world is coming to Canela.TV, available for free on every device.”

Angela Zepeda, CMO of Hyundai Motor America, said the World Cup presents an opportunity for Latinos to connect with their heritage and support their country. “Soccer is a big part of many of our lives and the world cup is the most exciting time for soccer fans!” she said. “We are delighted to work with Canela.TV to bring these matches into the homes of many.”
