Colibria Announces RCS 2.0 Compliance

Colibria has revealed that its SIP Presence, Instant Messaging and supporting XDMS server products are the first to fully comply with the requirements of Rich Communication Suite (RCS) Release 2.0.
Overseen by the GSM Association, RCS is currently supported by over 80 leading companies, including 28 of the worlds top operators, representing approximately 1.8 billion global connections.
Colibria says its SIP Presence, Instant Messaging, and supporting XDMS server products are fundamental to RCS deployments, providing in effect an RCS in a box solution, which can be deployed across IMS and pre IMS networks. Colibria is currently involved in nine RCS trials with mobile operators worldwide, with more planned.
Colibria has also launched an interworking program with client partners to ensure that end-to-end solutions can be deployed seamlessly across vendors. Colibria has now fully interworked with partner RCS clients from Cicero, Ecrio, EyeP Media, Geneker, Mercuro, Movial, Requestec, Sesca and Smith Micro, and continues to work with handset manufacturers to ensure full interoperability.
In recent months RCS has certainly been gathering some pace, says Colibria CEO, Keith Gibson. Colibria has trials in all corners of the world, and we expect to see these move quickly to deployment. We have always believed RCS to be a solid framework that will encourage innovative solutions. This is why we are eager to work closely with our customers and partners to fulfil the requirements of RCS.
Colibria was one of the first vendors to provide fully compliant products for RCS R1.0 in December 2008, and has been moving working to ensure that operators are able to trial and roll out R2.0 functionality since its unveiling in June 2009.
