Company behind All Bar One, Toby Carvery brings mobile payments to brands with Flypay

Toby CarveryMitchells & Butlers (M&B), the UK restaurant, pub and bar operator behind brands including All Bar One, Toby Carvery, Browns, and Harvester, has formed a partnership with hospitality mobile payment provider Flypay.

The partnership will see M&B use Flypay’s Flyt platform to offer ‘frictionless payments’ – through Flyt’s ‘pay at table’ and ‘bar tabs’ technologies, powered by Zonal Aztec EPOS – across all of its approximately 1,700 restaurants, pubs and bars.

“We are really excited to be playing such a crucial role in this journey with M&B, who will be the largest operator in the UK, (based on number of sites), to adopt next generation mobile payment technology,” said Tom Weaver, CEO of Flypay.

In addition, due to its integration with Flyt earlier this year, Eagle Eye vouchers will be redeemable at M&B brands directly from customers’ mobile devices without the need of going to the bar.

M&B suggests it has made the move due to an increase in guests, ‘especially millennials’, preferring to pay using technology. Furthermore, it has identified the opportunity to improve customer service and attention of front-of-house staff.

Chris Hopkins, commercial and marketing director for M&B, said: “Digital innovation opens up many possibilities to enhance customer experience and improve the efficiency of our operations.”
