eBay Reportedly Investigating Bitcoin Payments

eBay has reportedly been working to integrate cryptocurrency Bitcoin into Braintree, the payments company it acquired last September.
According to The Wall Street Journal, PayPal officials have met with Bitcoin companies including Coinbase over the past few weeks. 
The exact nature of these dicussions is still unclear, and eBay reportedly has no plans to accept Bitcoin on its own site, nor through PayPal. However, this suggests it could be on the horizon. This would be a major step towards legitimising the currency, which has so far only been accepted by independent retailers, or small chains like CeX.
