Esendex has acquired Text Marketer for an undisclosed sum.
Esendex, founded in 2001, was itself bought out by Darwin Private Equity in a deal worth £11m back in July. It was announced at the time that the company would be looking to grow the business organically and through acquisition in its existing markets and across Europe – this purchase is the first step in that direction.
Founded in 1999, SMS supplier Text Marketer offers a self-service bulk SMS marketing solution to its clients, which include Sainsbury’s, Land Rover and Bathstore – a roster which seems to have attracted Esendexs attention.
“Text Marketer is an excellent acquisition for Esendex – we have known the company for a long time and their model is complementary to ours,” said Geoff Love, CEO at Esendex. “Text Marketer was an obvious choice. With their impressive growth, strong client base and well positioned price-led offering, we can now serve a wider range of customers with differing business SMS needs.”
