Mobile CRM Platform SessionM Lands $35m Funding

SessionMMobile marketing automation company SessionM has closed a $35m (£26m) strategic growth investment round.

SessionM describes itself as a technical bridge between a company’s CRM database and its marketing stack, offering a cloud-based SaaS platform that can triggers personalised responses based on user behaviour.

The funding round was led by global growth equity firm General Atlantic, along with Salesforce Ventures and existing investors including Highland Capital Partners and Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

As part of its investment, General Atlantic SVP Jim Rossman will join SessionM’s board of directors. Rossman has previously served as president and COO at AKQA and COO at Digitas.

“Delivering real-time, personalised marketing across multiple digital channels – particularly on mobile – is an immediate need in the marketplace, and we believe SessionM is uniquely positioned to seize this opportunity,” said Rossman. “SessionM’s proven technology is used today by some of the largest consumer-facing enterprises in the world across nearly every category.
