Mobile Made Up a Quarter of Record 96m Visitors to BBC.com in March

BBC World Service Indonesia Mobile SiteBBC.com, the broadcasters non-UK news site, hit a record 96m unique users in March 2014 – a quarter of which (24m) came from mobile devices.

The site saw user figures increase 26 per cent on its monthly average of 76m, with growth largely coming from mobile. While desktop usage remained stable, mobile saw an 88 per cent increase year-on-year.

Its a similar story with video content. Of the 34m total views of BBC.com videos in March, a record 11m views came from apps.

Additionally, the BBC was the single most shared news brand on Twitter in March, according to Newswhip data, with its stories being tweeted 2.7m times – putting it well ahead of the second most-shared, the New York Times, with 1.8m.
