GroupM names mPlatform UK head
Paul Rowlinson has been appointed UK managing director of mPlatform, the data offering launched by WPP-owned media company GroupM last November.

“The mission of mPlatform is to use the most powerful collection of data, technology and expertise to provide addressability and accountability for our clients across all media. It will provide the insights and understanding of audiences needed to drive a crucial market advantage for our clients, helping them transform their approach to marketing to one of mass personalisation,” said Rowlinson. “I am hugely excited to be leading this new team, and working closely with all GroupM’s agencies, media partners and clients to make this vision a reality.”

Rowlinson was formerly COO of WPP stablemate Mindshare, where he spent 13 years, after starting out at Starcom back in 1998.

Mobkoi hires three managing directors for Europe
UK-based mobile marketing start-up Mobkoi has made three hires to head up its UK, France and German offices.

Donia Baddou has been named managing director for Mobkoi UK, a promotion from her previous role as head of sales. Before joining Mobkoi, Baddou worked at Teads and the Financial Times.

Steven Grant joins as French MD from RadiumOne, where held the position of senior sales manager, and German MD Vera Huebner will be leading the companys newly-opened Frankfurt office. Having spent nearly a decade at the Financial Times, Huebner’s remit will cover not just Germany but the Nordics and Switzerland. 

Quantcast adds to global partnerships team
Real-time advertising firm Quantcast has made four hires to build out its London-based global partnerships team.

Brian McNamara (formerly of Dentsu Aegis) and Glyn Shadwell (Carat) join as directors of global partnerships. Mark De Rijke (Havas Media) has been appointed international partnerships director. Finally, as head of partnerships, Simon Mukerjee (The Exchange Lab) will focus on Quantcast’s UK and EMEA client and agency partnerships.

The partnerships team is intended to foster close relationships with media agencies and brands ready to take the next step into programmatic evolution, using Quantcast’s programmatic technology.

Marketo names Wolfe as new COO
Greg Wolfe has been named COO of marketing software and solutions provider Marketo, succeeding previous COO and executive vice president Jason Holmes, who will be stepping down in March.

Wolfe founded B2B tech consultancy Emalex in 2009, after leaving his role as executive vice president and general manager at Business Objects, an enterprise software company acquired by SAP in 2007. At Marketo, he will be responsible for driving the company’s growth initiatives, unifying management of strategy, execution, and accountability of the entire organisation.

Marketo has also appointed Eric Johnson, former president of the Americas at Qlik, as chief sales officer, effective immediately.

SpotX hires first chief revenue officer
SpotX has promoted former SVP global revenue Sean Buckley to chief revenue officer.

The newly-created role is just the fourth C-level executive position at the video ad specialist. Buckley will continue to lead SpotX’s platform and demand facilitation teams, where he has worked since he joined in 2013, while also helping to shape the overall company’s strategic direction globally.
