MWC: Synchronica Introduces Pay as you Grow RCS

Mobile messaging company Synchronica has launched its pay as you grow RCS (Rich Communications Suite) service. Based on technology from NewPace – following a partnership deal announced last week – the hosted solution provides mobile operators with an alternative to implementing their own IMS core network, which the company says means a quicker and more cost-effective roll out.
“We believe that operators shouldn’t have to abandon legacy investments as a means of deploying new technology,” says Kim Hartlev, CTO at Synchronica. “At the same time, we recognise that RCS is an evolving standard which will face regular technical revisions. Because Synchronica’s solution is hosted on behalf of the mobile operator, it’s easy for us to deploy software upgrades as the RCS-e specification evolves, keeping the mobile operator’s service fully up to date without facing additional costs.”
