New gifting app Prsnt raises £180,000

Prsnt app

Gifting app Prsnt, which enables users to send and share gifts directly from their smartphone, has raised £180,000 through Suss Ventures, a bespoke investor matching service that is part of the Sussex Innovation business incubator.

Co-founded by a team of five, the tech start-up aims to be the go-to gifting app by bringing back the feel good factor of giving and receiving gifts, made difficult by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The app connects users with their contact list so that they can connect with friends and family and invite those who arent already using the app. Browsing through the user-friendly marketplace of popular high street brands, they can then send their gift (from as little as £2) along with a personalised text or video message. The receiver of the gift digitally unwraps the gift with their finger and has the option of sending a thank you message back.

The app features personal reminders, such as birthdays and anniversaries and is environmentally friendly, eliminating the need for postage and packing.

“We spent the first six months working on the idea with very limited budget. When the lockdown hit a lot of the VCs were saying they’re just backing their existing portfolios, but people were very receptive to our idea. It was great having Laurence, founder of Suss Ventures, to guide us through the journey and we developed a good amount of trust which is very important to us.” said Omid Moallemi, Co-founder of Prsnt.

Prsnt is currently available to anyone with a +44 number and is developing its platform its platform across Europe and the United States by working with brands that are specific to each territory.
