Calling the technology a major step forward in worldwide value-added communications services that will improve user acquisition and retention for enterprise and developer customers, Nexmo have released Verify to a limited group, with a public release planned for late November.

Nexmo Verify was developed using the companys experience in servicing a large number of OTT apps with over 1100 carrier networks globally. Over the past four years, Nexmo has enabled more than 75,000 different firms, including apps such as WeChat, Airbnb, Viber and Line, to acquire billions of users using SMS and voice services.

Nexmo has already verified over 2bn users worldwide, and Verifys algorithm will streamline this process further, analysing real-time and historical data to increase conversion and improve the experience for both companies and consumers.

“With fragmentation of identities and security concerns increasing, its not surprising that the phone number is emerging as the unique user identity,” said Tony Jamous, CEO of Nexmo. “Nexmo Verify addresses all the challenges linked to implementation, scalability and performance, leveraging real-time algorithms fed by over half a billion data points per month from devices and carriers worldwide.”
