Red Bull Makes its Debut on the MEF Global Board

MEF, the international mobile trade body, has announced the results of its 2012 board elections. Red Bull has joined the association for the first time with its head of mobile, Peter Northing, elected. Jose Valles, director of enabling platforms and developer ecosystems for Telefonica, is also a new face on the board.

Peter Parmenter from Electronic Arts and Mark Harding from KPMG were re-elected for 2012-2014, alongside incumbents from CocaCola, Qtel Group, A&N Media, mBlox and Incomm and MEF’s regional chairs. The election took place at MEFs AGM.

Andrew Bud, who was re-elected as global chair, said: “These elections have affirmed the diversity of our ecosystem and the commitment to mobile as a primary engagement channel.  With this outstanding group of individuals and organisations on the Board, MEF is even better placed to help its members successfully navigate the increasing complexity of the mobile landscape.”

The board represents major verticals and vendors across the mobile industry as well as representatives from EMEA, North America, Latin America and Asia. The body has committed to increase its focus on growth markets, support new entrants as well as established mobile players, and champion consumer trust.
