Aspiro subsidiary Rubberduck Media Lab has announced a change of company name to Aspiro TV. The company says the name change signals a move from being a pure mobile TV provider, to becoming a provider of hosted and managed TV services to all devices and screens.
“TV, together with music, is on its way to becoming the core of the new and future-oriented Aspiro,” says Aspiro TV CEO, Gunnar Sellæg. “These two areas are growing very fast, and we are looking forward to an exciting year where we will launch with several new partners and in new markets.”
Aspiro has already launched TV apps for PC and the iPad, and will be expanding its product portfolio further in 2011, to include mobile and web streaming to anything from mobile phones, through tablets and portable computers to connected TVs.
Aspiro TV will be showcasing its new product portfolio, including mobile, tablet and PC clients, at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona from 14 – 17 February in Hall 2, Stand 2A67.
