Set Your Alarm – Windows Phone 7 is Here

The UK’s first Windows Phone 7 handsets go on sale at 7am tomorrow morning at Orange’s Oxford Street shop (155-157 Oxford Street) in London. Whether the handsets will set off the sort of frenzy that accompanies the launch of a new iPhone, with eager buyers camping out overnight to ensure they are one of the first to get one, is a moot point. Actually, it probably isn’t.

Anyway, the two phones in question are the HTC 7 Mozart, which is available only on Orange, and the HD Voice-enabled Samsung Omnia 7.

Capital FM Breakfast Show presenters Johnny Vaughan and Lisa Snowdon will be heading for the store following their morning breakfast show, and will be offering prizes to those in store from 10am. Also, anyone who buys a Windows Phone in the Oxford Street store tomorrow will receive a free Bluetooth headset whilst stocks last.

Both phones feature quick-link access to a number of Orange apps and services, which are integrated into Windows Phone’s Start screen. These include Orange Wednesdays, Orange Maps, the Your Orange account management tool, and Orange Daily, which includes at-a-glance news, sport and weather content, as well as extras such as Wikipedia.
