Sky Sports has once again won the rights to show live coverage of the English Football League (EFL). More interestingly, the new deal will also see some games livestreamed across Sky’s interactive and digital platforms for the first time.

The £600m agreement gives Sky the rights to broadcast games from the EFL until 2024. It will come into effect from the 2019/20 season, where Sky Sports Football will show up to 183 matches exclusively live each year from the Sky Bet Championship, Sky Bet League One, Sky Bet League Two, Carabao Cup and Checkatrade Trophy.

These games will be joined by 80 Sky Bet Championship midweek matches streamed across Sky’s digital platforms, bringing the potential number of games for Sky Sports customers up to over 260 from the current 145 games. Any additional midweek games that Sky choose not to broadcast will be streamed via the EFL’s iFollow streaming service or through the club’s own websites.
