Mobile advertising solutions company Smaato has revealed that Tim Draper of Draper Fisher Jurvetson will join the jury of the Smaato Mobile Advertising Award, for which the deadline for submissions is fast approaching.
Together with Silicon Valley based Vator.tv and INmobile.org Smaato has also announced the names of the four venture capital partners, who will be introduced to the winning company. In addition to Draper, these are Howard Hartenbaum from August Capital; Frdric Veyssiere from Innovacom Venture Capital; and Niall Davis, from aeris CAPITAL.
We are proud that, together with vator.tv, we (have) created an outstanding opportunity for the award winner to be introduced to the VC community, says Smaato CEO & Co-founder, Ragnar Kruse. The winning company has the chance to gain recognition from first class venture capital partners. This is a fantastic opportunity for a young mobile company.
The Smaato award will honour mobile publishers or developers with an outstanding mobile ad-enabled solution. Developers wishing to compete for the award need to provide a video pitch of about 1 min 30 sec. and upload it to the award section of the vator.tv website.
In addition, they can provide up to 3 PDF pages of screenshots and supporting materials. The deadline for submissions is this Friday, 21 November 2008. IN addition to meeting the VCs, the winners will be invited to take part in the Mobile World Congress, taking place in Barcelona, Spain in February 2009. An additional prize will be a free booth at the M-Days in Munich, Germany in January 2009.
