Last autumn, Spotify responded to the pandemic by leveraging partnerships with Songkick and Ticketmaster. Fans could find virtual performances via the 'On Tour' section of their favourite artists profiles, as the Artists pick or in the Concerts hub.
By streamlining the experience with the new partners, listeners can now go directly from Spotify on iOS, Android, or desktop to their chosen event. Spotify itself doesn't sell tickets, but instead recommends events to listeners based on their location, the music they like, and the artists they follow.
To further support artists and their teams, in the coming weeks listeners will be sent personalised emails with virtual event recommendations, along with push notifications 24-48 hours in advance of virtual events.
