eBook community Wattpad has released its Q3 Metrics Report. The report covers both desktop and mobile eBook usage of users from over 160 countries, and shows continuous growth in the numbers of teens and young women choosing eBook platforms for mobile and social entertainment. During the third quarter, in fact, 90 per cent of Wattpad’s traffic came from young women under the age of 25.
The report also reveals an increase in mobile users in the US, as well as the growing popularity of the iPhone/iPad/iPod family and BlackBerry devices. According to the report, the US now accounts for over 50 per cent of BlackBerry and iOS users.iOS users were the more active and social users, spending 250m minutes collectively on Wattpad during Q3, while BlackBerry users accounted for just 40m minutes.
“The number of users on Wattpad has increased over 50 per cent in the last quarter, making this our most thorough examination of eBook consumption habits to date” says Wattpad CEO and co-founder, Allen Lau.
