Action for Children has partnered with Mobileweb Company to launch a mobile site. It includes geo-location mapping of the charitys live projects, which currently stand at 420 across the UK and are designed to support the most vulnerable children. The site also encourages its mobile visitors to donate via SMS.
“Thanks to the generous support of Mobileweb Company, users can now search and donate from their phones to services and projects that are close to their hearts or close to their homes,” said Action for Children head of digital Caroline Parr. “This technology means our message will be available to more people and enable us to raise vital funds for our projects throughout the UK.”
The charity has also created a mobile site for Byte Night, Action for Childrens campaign to tackle the causes of homelessness among young people, which will see more than a thousand people from the IT and business industries sleeping out across the UK to try to raise £1m.
