AR iPad App Enables Brides to Design and Try on Wedding Dresses

weddingreality-screenshot-5Technology company Wedding Reality has launched an iPad app that uses AR technology to enable brides-to-be to design and virtually try on wedding dresses.

The Wedding Dress Studio app uses the companys patented fabric-remapping technology to accurately recreate the dresses in the app, and also enables users to search for and find existing dresses by designers and bridal shops.

Once uploading a full body photo and adjusting shoulder and hip points in order to have a perfect fit for the dress in the image, the app enables users to create a dress by choosing from silhouette, neckline, fabric and embellishment options, with a gallery of nearly 300 unique gown designs.

“With thousands of wedding dress designs available today, dress shopping can be very overwhelming for a bride-to-be,” said Hillary Sica, executive director for the app. “We designed Wedding Dress Studio to alleviate some of that burden and help women visualise what silhouettes, styles and even dress fabrics will potentially look best on them.

“Were excited to bring augmented reality technology to the bridal world, as there is nothing like this on the market. Each of the gowns available through the app are based on whats currently trending and fashionable in the industry right now, making it easy for brides to go into a store and show a salesperson exactly what they want.”
