Betfair Speeds up Customer Verification with Jumio

netverify_logo_rgb_white_on_blackOnline gambling company Betfair has adopted mobile credentials company Jumios Netverify customer verification and on-boarding solution in an effort to give consumers a smoother, more seamless user experience.

Betfair serves nearly a million customers and is one of the largest online betting and gaming operators in the world. By integrating Netverify into its site, Betfairs customers can easily and quickly pass Know Your Customer (KYC) checks designed to reduce fraud.

Previously, KYC requirements meant that customers would have to take a picture of their photo ID documentation and then fax or email it to the Betfair verifications team. With Jumios solution, customers mobile device cameras or webcams can be transformed into ID scanning terminals that make it fast and easy to capture and verify their credentials.

“By adding Jumios Netverify into the customer verification process, we are making life quicker and easier for our customers, minimising fall-out from lengthy verification processes and removing costly man hours where we have to receive and review documents manually,” said Phillip Rivers, head of registrations, payments and fraud at Betfair.

Clive Hawkswood, CEO of the Remote Gaming Association, said “Were seeing more and more gaming operators across Europe use customer verification tools like Jumio, not just to tick regulatory boxes but also to improve the customer experience.”
