Bloomberg Media Group has agreed to a video content partnership with Yahoo Japan. The deal will see subtitled Bloomberg video content – covering business, finance, technology and lifestyle news – appear on Yahoo Japan.
The partnership marks Yahoo Japan’s first foray into business video content, and Bloomberg’s first in localised Japanese language video.
“In view of the demand from Japan for local language video content on global business and finance news, we felt it was important to explore an innovative distribution model so we are able to have broader reach across Japan’s mobile and cosmopolitan business consumer segment,” said Dan Molloy, commercial director for Asia-Pacific at Bloomberg Media Group. “This content partnership marks an expansion of our industry leading digital video strategy, extending the reach of our content and brand to Yahoo Japan’s consumer base.”
A spokesperson from Yahoo Japan Corporation added: “We are delighted to work with Bloomberg to feature high quality, local language business video content which we believe to match the needs of Japanese consumers.”
This partnership marks the latest video content deal that Bloomberg has agreed. Earlier this month, the media company inked a deal with Twitter to provide a 24/7 breaking news network for the microblogging site.
