Facebook App Gains Music and TV Recognition

Facebook has introduced a feature for its app that automatically detects currently playing music, TV and movies and shares it with the users friends.
Facebook stresses that this is an optional feature – wisely, given growing concerns about privacy in the face of always-listening technology – which is activated when the user starts to write a status update. An icon will then appear that, if tapped, will use the devices microphone to identify whats playing.
This will then appear in the users feed either as a 30-second clip, if its a song, or with a listing of the specific season and episode, its a TV programme. 
The feature is coming to Facebooks Android and iOS apps in the US in the coming weeks.
