Google Updates Offers with Google Maps Integration

Google has updated its Offers self-service tool for US businesses, speeding up the offer creation process and adding support for Google Maps.

Offers, which first launched in July, targets consumers with digital coupons based on their location and preferences, which can then be saved to the users device.

With this update, participating businesses will now have their Google Maps listings marked with a  price tag icon, differentiating them from the competition – though it must be said that the light blue icon doesnt particularly stand out.

Whats more likely to be effective, however, is that once a customer has saved the offer – which is the metric Offers charges by – Google will serve location-based reminders when theyre near the store.

Offers is currently US-only; theres no word on when it will roll out internationally.
