Grabyo Aims to Bring Vertical Video to Wider Audience

grabyoSocial video firm Grabyo has unveiled a new feature that aims to enable publishers to create, edit and share videos in square and vertical formats, ensuring that their video content is optimised for mobile viewing.

Vertical video has been a rising trend on social media thanks to the success of apps like Snapchat and Periscope. Grabyos new technology enables video content creators to edit live-streams and VOD uploads shot in horizontal format to vertical and square formats in seconds and distribute these clips to social media in real-time, providing content in the format that consumers want to see.

The editing tools are currently in public beta, and allow 16:9 horizontal videos from any source to be edited into either a 1:1 square format or 9:16 vertical view, optimising them for mobile viewing.

“Video optimised for mobile viewing is a growing trend, but publishers did not have access to the tools needed to deliver this content in the right format at the right time,” said Gareth Capon, CEO of Grabyo. “With our latest update, Grabyo has introduced a smart, easy and fast method of creating, editing and sharing video in vertical and square video formats.

“We are excited to bring this revolutionary product to market and accelerate the adoption of mobile-first video formats that have proved so popular with consumers around the world.”
