A multimedia Twitter campaign by Sports Revolution and Absolute Radio to create more engagement around Ian Wrights Rock n Roll Football Show has resulted in a 26 per cent increase in followers.
Twitter was used to connect football fans at 16 UK football grounds via TV screens installed in the concourse. Visitors were invited to #tellwrighty their thoughts on a series of questions posted on screens. Abolute saw a 26 per cent increase in followers of the Rock ‘n’ Roll Football show, with 553 fans used the hashtag #tellwrighty on their mobiles during football matches, generating a total of 850 tweets. This was the first time that Twitter had been used by the radio station to raise brand awareness and engage with fans as part of the matchday experience. A spokesperson from Sports Revolution said: “As fans get used to using Twitter as a means of communicating with each other, this will only become a more popular way for brands to engage with sports fans.”
